Duryea Engine and Ladder were dispatched to Main St in Ransom for a commercial fire alarm.  While crews were assembling, Chief 8 would upgrade the alarm to a working fire. The 126 Engine would arrive and establish a primary water supply.  The 226 Ladder would take the building and extend the ladder to the roof.  The fire would be located in the "penthouse" area of the building which is the the area above the main dryer for the large rolls of paper produced at the plant.  The engine crew along with the ladder crew would place a 3" inch supply line up the ladder to the roof.  Highrise packs would be used with the a gated wye to attack the fire.  The crews would operate for nearly 2 hours before returning to service.
